A few thousand miles and an ocean away this semester. Just got settled back at home in the suburbs of Chicago. The feeling of relief after a long day of traveling and finally laying down in my own bed, eating my favorite foods from home, and being with my family and friends is indescribable.

After being home for only a few hours it is difficult not to miss my friends from school and roaming around the streets of the UK and Europe. But there really is no place like home. Studying abroad really opened my mind about not taking my home, family, and friends for granted. Even though traveling the world gave me such a high on life, there will be no comparable feeling to the love of coming home to the people you missed the most.

After being an only child and my farthest “move” away from home was living in downtown Chicago, I never thought in a million years that I would be able to live 4,000 miles away from home. If your school offers a study abroad program, you should 10000000000% take full advantage of the opportunity to immerse yourself in other cultures.

All the places I went to this semester:

London, Stonehenge, Bath — England
Rome, Sorrento, Positano, Capri — Italy
Galway, Dublin — Ireland
Swansea, Cardiff — Wales
Paris — France
Berlin — Germany
Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra — Portugal
Barcelona — Spain

Here’s a quick snippet of what my experience was like this semester, enjoy loves!
