How to Shop on a College Girl’s Budget

Being a Fashion Business student and having a huge interest in the art of fashion — it’s difficult being a full-time student, working part-time, and trying to keep up with the trends all while staying on a ‘college budget.’ After having this blog for almost three years now, I had realized that I have never really gone in-depth at what store I do my shopping at!

I am going to be honest I do like pretty things — I like quality clothes, I like designer names, and I like looking put together.

How can I afford all of this as a 21-year-old?

  • I put money aside and INVEST in a reasonable article of clothing
  • I will browse around the internet and find SIMILAR pieces for a better price
  • Shop SALE
  • OUTLET STORES: I love love love TjMaxx, Nordstrom Rack, and Saks Fifth Off 5th – This is where I get A LOT of my Free People clothing!

What stores I shop at:

Besides the stores I just mentioned I am an avid online shopper…

My favorite brick-and-mortar stores are:

On top of online shopping and browsing around at my favorite stores, I love shopping at second-hand thrift shopping and supporting local boutiques! For all of you Chicagoans, my FAVORITE spot to go to is the Urban Outfitters in Lincoln Park’s a SURPLUS STORE. That’s right, everything is at a discounted price! Address: 2352 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614.

Enjoy and happy shopping!

xoxo — Bree
