This past week, I was able to go on my last official “spring break” trip with some of my absolute favorite gal pals. It was a a much needed reset and “detox” from work and school. To be honest, this week gave me that final “push” to finish off my last five weeks of school strong. Uh wow, five weeks… That doesn’t sound terrifying!?
I had always been inspired to go to Charleston by all the influencers and bloggers I follow. I didn’t really know what to expect, and none of my friends had been here before. All I can say is that, it looks like it came straight out of a postcard. (Every bloggers dream state ✨) Today, I am sharing with you my Charleston: Travel Guide. Enjoy!
THINGS TO DO:
✮ Take surf lessons at Folly Beach – Isla Surf School ⋆ This was my first time surfing but it was so worth it and so much fun! Group lessons of 3 people are your best bet and were $45/person!
✮ Rent bicycles – Holy Spokes
✮ Shopping on King Street ⋆ This hurt all of our wallets… Lol.
✮ Stroll around South of Broad
✮ Book a carriage ride
✮ Beach day at Sullivan’s Island
✮ Kayak and paddle boarding
✮ Visit the Charleston City Market
✮ Spa Day – The Estuary Spa & Resort ⋆ Thank the good lord, our friend Cecilia found a Groupon to spend a whole day at this resort for $100 and you had the option to get an hour massage or body scrub.
WHERE TO EAT + DRINK:
✮ The Crab Shack – Folly Beach
✮ Clean Juice (breakfast)
✮ Fast & French (breakfast)
✮Poogan Porch (breakfast) ⋆ Known for their chicken and waffles!
✮ Basic Kitchen (lunch)
✮ Rodney Scott’s BBQ (dinner) ⋆ This place is so good, by the time we got here for dinner all the ribs were sold out. 😕
✮ Magnolia’s (dinner)
⋆ The Vendue (rooftop)
⋆ 5 Church
⋆ Public House
⋆ Uptown Social
TIPS WHEN TRAVELING:
✮ Rainbow Row: This street is a must-see for people who love creating new content. Such a colorful and happy street, it was hard not to smile when we were here. I can’t wait to share all of my content with you all over the next week!
✮ Book through Expedia: When we were booking this around November we got our airfare PLUS hotel for $300 for our five-day trip! Also, if you download Ebates on your computer, you receive cash back savings when you book through Expedia.
✮ Under pack: Yes, you read that correctly. I packed the exact amount of outfits for the number of days I was here. Charleston shopping is SO cute and my wallet definitely hates me for it, but I saved so much room in my luggage because of this reason.
✮ Take LOTS of pictures. Seriously. This city was straight out of a postcard. Too beautiful to not capture.
✮ Be sure to check the time of store/restaurant hours on their websites and not Google or Google Maps (for some reason it wasn’t synced up)! Also, life is definitely slower paced in the south than Chicago.
I’d say that I had a pretty successful birthday week and started off 22, strong?! Thank you to my best friends for a MUCH-NEEDED girls trip. ❤️
