HELLO LOVES

Fitness and wellness is something that I haven’t really touched base on in a long time but is a huge part of my life. Some of you may know that I work at a gym/spa and have been for the past year. I have met some of my favorite people here and couldn’t be more thankful for my Xsport family. I learned more about fitness and recovery over the past year than I have over the past 10 years.

Some of you might know, I played club volleyball growing up. I was pretty competitive growing up (I still am) and working out has been apart of my lifestyle since I was 13-years-old. Oddly enough, I love being able to drip sweat after a good workout (usually I look like I just got out of pool) and even feel sore for days.

Honestly, it sucks to go through pictures from high school and see the transformation your body goes through after you go to college. BUT I have always been comfortable in my own skin and luckily as time went on, our society promoted “strong is the new skinny” and to “love your curves.” Let me tell you, being a petite girl and barely reaching 5’2″ has it’s downfalls when it comes to shopping. Not to mention having curves. Jean shopping is always a nightmare.

Although…something that I always enjoyed shopping for was workout clothes. If I could live in sweatpants and sweatshirts for the rest of my life, I would. Being the shopaholic I am, I am always on the lookout for cute workout clothes. Something about being in cute workout clothes motivates me more when I am working out.

Here are some of my absolute favorite stores to shop at for workout clothes:
Lululemon: I know, I know. These leggings are kind of pricey but they are a huge investment and they last for such a long time.
Target: Sports bras and workout tops galore. Target has stepped up their buyer game and their workout clothes are 10x cuter than ever.
TjMaxx: This is where I get all my “name brand” workout clothes. I literally have clothes from Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Lorna Jane, 90 degrees, etc.
Gymshark: The best quality workout attire for an affordable price.
Fabletics: Well done Kate Hudson. Some of the quality of the pieces are questionable but I have found some of my favorite workout tops from here!

You obviously need to pick and choose your battles when it comes down to “investing” in a higher quality brand. I am very particular when it comes to shopping for these pieces. I won’t even think twice when I spend my money on a pair of higher priced leggings and shoes but when it comes to tops I’m very hit or miss (even though I impulsively bought a top from Lululemon when I was in there for an exchange the other day). I’m all about having a good sweat session when I wear a thick sweatshirt at the gym but sometimes I throw on a cami over my sports bra and call it a day. At the end of the day, buy/wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and beautiful in your own skin! ❤️
